Šepak is a border crossing over a bridge on the Drina near Zvornik, known on the Serbian side as Trbušnica, close to Loznica. Officially, it is categorized as a passenger-vehicles-only crossing. Since December 10, 2024, however, it has been temporarily recategorized to also allow freight traffic, but only within limited time windows — weekdays from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 6:00, and weekends only from 22:00 to 6:00. The reason was practical: the nearby Novi Most bridge between Mali Zvornik and Karakaj was closed for reconstruction at the same time, so Šepak temporarily took on some of the freight that normally crosses there, along with the Ljubovija–Bratunac and Badovinci–Pavlović Bridge crossings. Whenever the restriction at Šepak is in force, trucks arriving outside the permitted windows simply have to wait for the next opening period, so freight drivers should check the current schedule before planning a route through here.
