Uvac is a border crossing between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Uvac river, between the Priboj and Nova Varoš municipalities on the Serbian side and the Rudo municipality on the Republika Srpska side. It sits in mountain country, between Zlatibor and Zlatar — two well-known upland areas of southwestern Serbia — which makes it a route used mainly by traffic tied to that region rather than long-distance transit. The crossing operates 24 hours a day, for both passenger and freight vehicles. Unlike the crossings further north along the Drina — Pavlović Bridge, Mali Zvornik, Šepak — which link the flatter Mačva and Semberija regions, Uvac serves a hillier, more rural stretch of the border, and is consequently better known to locals and to drivers traveling between the Zlatibor area and eastern Bosnia than to passing tourists.
